Description
A vintage floor standing lamp designed in the form of a Middle Eastern hookah pipe. The lamp is constructed from etched brass featuring floral and foliate motifs with black lacquer or enamel inlay. The base consists of a flared and scalloped foot rising to a bulbous vessel section decorated with an applied openwork metal band. A side spout, formerly for a hookah hose, functions as the exit for the electrical cord. The tall column is composed of several turned and segmented sections, terminating in a scalloped cup and a standard light socket. The lamp is wired with a gold colored plastic cord and a two prong non polarized plug. The socket sleeve bears standard manufacturing and safety stamps, but no maker marks or signatures are present on the lamp body. The lamp lacks a harp and shade.

The lamp is in poor vintage condition with significant evidence of structural repair. Crude lead or tin solder joints are visible at the base of the upper scalloped cup and the lower neck of the column, which has resulted in the upper assembly being slightly out of vertical alignment. The brass surfaces show scattered tarnish, surface scratches, minor dents, and patches of green verdigris oxidation, notably around the base and socket saddle. The metal harp saddle exhibits heavy rust and corrosion. Lamp will need rewiring and repairs.
