Description
This lot consists of 14 vintage children’s comic books published between 1975 and 1981. The collection includes titles from Harvey Publications, Gold Key/Whitman (Western Publishing), Fawcett Publications, and Spire Christian Comics. The Harvey Publications group includes Richie Rich No. 209 (December 1981), Richie Rich Jackpots No. 41 (June 1979), Richie Rich Money World No. 42 (October 1979), Richie Rich and Casper No. 26 (November 1978), Casper the Friendly Ghost No. 206 (October 1979), and Devil Kids starring Hot Stuff No. 103 (February 1981). Representing Gold Key and Whitman (Western Publishing) are Underdog No. 11 (February 1977), New Terrytoons with Mighty Mouse No. 53 (November 1978), Looney Tunes No. 18 (February 1978), and two Walt Disney Daisy and Donald issues, No. 13 (November 1975) and No. 38 (July 1979). From Fawcett Publications, the lot contains Dennis the Menace Big Bonus Series No. 190 (August 1979) and No. 192 (August 1979). The group is completed by Crossfire (1976), published by Spire Christian Comics. Covers feature original retail prices from 25 cents to 50 cents.
These items are offered in raw, ungraded condition. The lot generally appears in Good to Very Good condition. Spines show shelf wear, stress marks, and blunted corners. Covers exhibit age-related toning. Specific visible defects include pencil writing on the cover of Richie Rich No. 209, moisture-related discoloration on the left edge of Underdog No. 11, and a corner chip on the bottom left of Devil Kids No. 103. Interior pages show natural age toning consistent with paper used during the 1970s and 1980s.
