Lot 488:
Description
This lot consists of a collection of 12 contemporary collectible dolls featuring porcelain components and cloth bodies. The dolls are constructed with bisque-style porcelain heads, forearms, and lower legs attached to stuffed cloth torsos. Each doll features a synthetic fiber wig in various shades of blonde, brunette, and auburn, along with fixed, inset eyes made of plastic or glass. The dolls are dressed in elaborate period-style and themed costumes, including two bridal ensembles with veils, several Victorian-influenced gowns in satin and velvet, and rustic-style dresses. One doll retains an original manufacturer hangtag from Tuss, Inc. of Maryland Heights, Missouri. Accessories include a small wicker sunflower basket and a miniature plush bear. While one doll is identified by tag, the collection is characteristic of mass-market porcelain dolls from manufacturers such as Seymour Mann, Heritage Mint, or Duck House.
Height: 11 inches to 17 inches.
The collection is in good displayed condition. The porcelain heads and limbs are free of visible cracks, chips, or repairs. The clothing is generally well-preserved with some minor surface dust and light wear consistent with age and display. The synthetic hair on several dolls is slightly disordered and may require light styling.
