Description
This vintage two-piece warm-up suit was produced by Levi’s for the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Olympic Games. The set consists of a zip-front track jacket and matching athletic pants, both constructed from a blue and white velour-textured fabric with red accents. The jacket features a blue body with white side and underarm panels separated by red piping. It has a full-zip front with a red plastic zipper and a stand-up collar. The cuffs, collar, and hem are finished with ribbed knit material featuring red, white, and blue stripes. On the front right chest is a square woven patch with blue, white, and red stripes and the Levi’s logo. The front left chest features a shield-shaped embroidered patch with the text 1 9 8 4 and LOS ANGELES above a USA motion logo and the Olympic rings. The back of the jacket has large USA appliqué letters in white with red borders. The matching blue velour pants feature red piping down the outer leg seams and a gathered elastic waistband. A square Levi’s logo patch is located on the left hip, and a single patch pocket on the rear right side features a small white Levi’s brand tab. Both garments contain white woven interior tags reading MADE IN U.S.A. above a central Levi’s logo and the size L.
The set is in good vintage condition with visible signs of wear consistent with age. The jacket shows noticeable yellowing and staining on the white velour panels of both sleeves. The USA appliqué on the back of the jacket shows minor fraying along the embroidered edges. The pants exhibit several dark, streak-like stains on the front thigh and crotch area of the blue fabric.
