Description
A three-volume set of large-format instructional binders titled Famous Artists Course, published by Famous Artists Schools, Inc. in Westport, Connecticut. The set consists of three hardcover binders in red, yellow, and blue textured cloth-like boards, each featuring gold-stamped titles and the school’s “fa” logo. The volumes are organized by lesson sequences as marked on the spines: Volume I (Red) containing lessons 1-8, Volume II (Yellow) containing lessons 9-16, and Volume III (Blue) containing lessons 17-24. The course material is authored by a faculty of illustrators including Albert Dorne, Fred Ludekens, Norman Rockwell, Al Parker, Ben Stahl, Stevan Dohanos, Jon Whitcomb, Robert Fawcett, Peter Helck, George Giusti, Austin Briggs, and Harold Von Schmidt. Spines show some loosening at the hinges and minor fraying at the head and foot.
