Description

An assortment of natural history specimens professionally presented in black Riker-style mounts. Each specimen is held securely against the glass front by a soft, white fibrous backing within a black-framed box. The collection includes a Luna Moth (Actias luna) known for its pale green coloration and long, tapering tails; a large Atlas Moth (Attacus atlas) with reddish-brown wings, triangular translucent windows, and wingtips resembling snake heads; a Great Mormon Butterfly (Papilio memnon) featuring black and white striped forewings and red-marked hindwings; a pale ochre-colored Silk Moth; and a large Owl Moth with prominent concentric eyespots on the hindwings.
Smaller display boxes: 6 inches x 5 inches
Larger display box: 8 inches x 6.5 inches.
The specimens show variable condition consistent with age and biological material. The Atlas Moth has a visible tear and missing section at the apex of the upper left forewing. The large Owl Moth shows significant wing loss and tearing on the right hindwing. Other specimens appear generally intact with minor expected wear or slight fading.
