Description
The larger print is a sepia-toned stipple engraving depiction of a young woman with curly hair holding a dove. The print features the printed inscription Edwin Roffe, sculp. along the upper right margin and R. Cosway, R.A. delt along the lower right margin. It is housed in a rectangular stained wood frame with a gilt inner liner, cream-colored matting, and a cardboard backing featuring the handwritten pencil inscription McKee 81 G1105.
The two smaller oval portrait prints are mid-20th-century decorative reproductions from the A Cameo Creation series. Both are housed in ornate gilt-finished oval composite frames with deep red velvet mats and convex glass covers. The reverse of one oval frame bears paper labels reading A Cameo Creation and Portrait of a Lady by Moritz Michael Daffinger. The reverse of the second oval frame bears paper labels reading A Cameo Creation and Comtesse Louisa Cerclé by F. X. Winterhalter.
Rectangular frame: 11.25 x 14.625 inches
Oval frames: 6.5 x 5.125 inches each.
The collection is in good overall vintage condition with wear consistent with age and use. The rectangular wooden frame shows minor scuffing and light surface scratches. The paper backing on the reverse of the rectangular frame shows some tearing along the edges. The two oval composite frames show minor wear to the gilt finish and light dust accumulation in the crevices, with intact velvet mats, glass, and rear labels.
